Our client, a leading construction supply company based in Dagenham are looking for a well-organised, resourceful Buying Manager to oversee the purchasing department. The main focus of this role will be to analyse inventory in order to reduce waste and optimise customer service.

Your main duties within this position will include:

* Designing and implementing supply chains that support business strategies to suit changing market conditions
* Recognising new business opportunities and cost reduction strategies
* Overseeing and supporting staff within the purchasing department
* Managing activities related to procurement, warehousing, material requirements and inventory control
* Defining performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors
* Document physical supply chain processes
* Identify, manage and reduce risk within the supply chain and resolve any issues that arise
* Monitor forecasts to identify changes and to determine their effect on supply chain activities
* Developing and implementing continuous improvement strategies for material inventory and finished goods

The ideal candidate will have experience using MRP/ERP and Microsoft Office Suite and an understanding of forecasting and SI&OP processes. You will also need to have fantastic time management skills, a strong customer focus and excellent leadership skills.

To be considered for this position, you must have experience of management and purchasing within the construction industry. A bachelor's degree within Supply Chain and Six Sigma experience would be ideal.

This is a full-time, permanent role, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
