Interim Financial Accountant – 12 month FTC | Kent/Fully Remote | £50k - £65k DOE
This is a long term interim role that is covering someone internally while they work on a major project. The role is suited to a conscientious, methodical and analytical qualified accountant.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role suits someone used to the demands of a fast paced environment. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of supporting successful month end close to tight deadlines. This business is US owned and is therefore subject to Sarbanes Oxley compliance reporting. The role should assist in ensuring the financial books reflect a complete and reconciled record of business activity and maintain the evidence to demonstrate this.
• Supporting divisional month end close to tight Group deadlines. Including posting journals into general ledger system and reviewing work of Treasury Accounts Assistant.
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations for allocated accounts within the first 10 working days after the month close, supported with good quality substantiation.
• To maintain/review monthly accruals, prepayments and fixed asset registers – ensuring records are evidenced to support financial statements and audits.
• Assist with the preparation of bank reconciliations prepared by the Assistant Financial Accountant.
• To prepare and improve working papers to support the periodic audit requirements and to be responsible for providing evidence for quarterly Sarbanes Oxley audits.
• Preparation of statutory accounts for more than 20 legal entities with IFRS disclosures for review by the finance manager.
• Liaise with external auditors or reviewers as required to ensure the efficient and timely completion of their queries.
• To take the lead on intercompany reconciliation liaising with counterparts to ensure balances are agreed in a timely fashion.
• Preparation of the FCA returns which are required frequently throughout the year.
• Post European transactions ensuring the correct mark ups and costs are passed through in line with the new tax structure
• To provide deep dive analysis uncovering reasons for variances and assisting with monthly commentary of key account movements.
• Any ad hoc work required with the implementation of a new Finance System, including testing and process review and amendment.
Skills:
• Excellent Excel literacy
• Financial Services background is beneficial but not essential
• Be a confident communicator
• High attention to detail
