Are you a part-qualified accountant, or equivalent, with a strong background in a management accounting role? If so we would welcome your application for this role.

Working as part of the Financial Planning and Strategy team, you will work closely with the Management Accounts team and the Strategic Projects Accountant, to ensure that all information is consistently reported. You will support the Financial Strategy & Budgeting Accountant in the production of the annual income and expenditure budget, as well as supporting the provision of forward-looking forecasts and scenario modelling.

As Assistant Budgeting Accountant you will:

Support the production of the annual University budget
Monitor allocations from strategic investment budgets, providing reports on remaining balances and ensuring that approved allocations are processed
Support the development and maintenance of a planning system to support the production of budgets and forward forecasts
Provide support to Strategic Projects, providing financial analysis and pulling together costing information for inclusion in business cases

To be successful in the role you will have/be:

Professionally part-qualified (CCAB or equivalent)
Strong experience in a management accounting role in a complex organisation
A good understanding of current accounting policies and reporting standards, including the HE/FE SORP
experience of all aspects of financial management and financial reporting, including strategy planning and formulation
