Ashford School runs an extensive and well managed Swimming Programme that utilises both its swimming pools on its sites in Ashford.

The school is looking for experienced Level 2 Swimming Teachers to join their friendly and professional team in September 2021, initially to teach as part of the Community Learn to Swim Programme, with opportunities to join other areas of the teaching and coaching programme as slots become available. The successful candidate should have a strong background in aquatics and have a true love of teaching, ideally including experience of teaching Adult & Child swimming lessons.

Pre-requisites for the post include:
- Level 2 Teaching Swimming Qualification (essential)
- Lifesaving or Teachers Rescue Qualification (essential)
- Level 2 Teaching Swimming to Babies and Toddlers (desirable)
- Level 1 Coaching Qualification (desirable)

The schools swimming programme includes:
- Curriculum teaching from Nursery to Year 9
- Squad swimming as part of ‘Games’ and for the Ashford School Swimming Club
- Primary School Programme and Community Learn to Swim Programme including lessons for Discovery Duckling & Duckling, Learn to Swim Stages 1 to 6, Swim Academy (Stage 6 and above), Water Polo, Adults (beginners, improvers and training), Crash Courses and Private lessons.

The core times for the School’s Community Swimming Programme are:
- Monday 10:00-11:30 & 17:00 to 20:00
- Tuesday 17:00 to 20:00
- Wednesday 17:00 to 20:30
- Friday 16:00 to 20:30
- Saturday 08:00 to 15:45
- Sunday 08:00 to 15:45

Contracted hours are dependent on the easing of COVID-19 Government restrictions and will be confirmed in due course. Additional hours are available during term breaks for crash courses and private lessons, as cover on curriculum and squad sessions and in the summer term for the Primary School Programme.
