Scope of the Role:

The scope of this role is to work as part of the Migrant Help Quality Team to ensure compliance to contractual and regulatory requirements for the Modern Slavery Victims Care Contract. This includes carrying out regular checks and audits to verify procedures are effective and are adhered to at all times. The postholder will be expected to work closely with operational and support services teams to ensure the quality of service provided to our clients, as well as conformance to contract key performance indicators. There is a requirement for the postholder to drive improvements and implement solutions where a shortfall in compliance or quality is observed. The postholder is expected to contribute to the overall success of the Organisation in accordance with Migrant Help's aims, objectives, vision and values.

Essential Criteria:

• A good general level of education is essential
• Demonstrable experience of quality assurance, continuous improvement or internal auditing in a social care setting
• Experience of creating and understanding reports and spreadsheets, as well as the ability to present findings and trends
• Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment
• Excellent understanding of customer care skills
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Demonstrable administrative and organisational skills
• Proven ability to prioritise and work on your own initiative whilst respecting boundaries
• Ability to deal with deadlines and conflicting priorities
• Excellent computer skills, particularly MS Office applications
• A compassionate and “can-do” attitude

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience of social care frontline operations, ideally to victims of trafficking and/or asylum seekers and refugees
• Experience of working in Social Care setting and working with clients who present with complex needs, including mental health and substance misuse
• Experience of working in the voluntary sector
• Demonstrable understanding of the immigration sector and regulations
• Experience of external audits, such as CQC, ISO, etc.

Core Responsibilities:

• Carry out regular checks, assessments and internal audits as scheduled
• Report on any findings, including good practice and any shortcomings
• Keep track of the Key Performance Indicators as set out in the MSVC contract
• Report on KPI performance within the contract, in line with contractual requirements and timescales.
• Identify root causes of any non-conformances and create improvement plans to ensure non-conformances are addressed and rectified.
• Work collaboratively with other teams to identify opportunities for improvement
• Raise concerns or issues as appropriate and work with the relevant teams to resolve these
• Give feedback based on audit and assessment outcomes
• Provide support to other colleagues as and when required
• Participate in regular team briefings / meetings
• Keep up to date with legislation, regulations, contract requirements and any changes in provision of service advice for modern slavery and safehouses and the impact it may have on service users, or current ways of working.
• Participate in the Supervision and Appraisal Process (SAA)
• Participate in all mandatory training and training identified in the Supervision & Appraisal process
• Undertake any other duties which may be assigned by the Quality Manager
