Technical Services Engineer (Cabling, Networking)

Our client is a Managed Services Provider established for over 10 years and looking to double in size in the next 5 years. Due to growth of the Technical Services division they are looking to recruit a creative and keen individual to join their knowledgeable cabling and installation team. We are looking for a skilled and experienced Engineer.

We are looking for an individual that has some knowledge or experience of all or some of the following;
• Installation of fibre optic and copper data cabling to current industry standards
• Wireless network solutions and their deployment
• IT switched networks
• CCTV, Access Control and AV Solutions and their integration to other systems
• Testing and termination of fibre optic and copper data cables to standard
• Installation of Comms cabinets and patch panels
• Identifying and resolving errors/issues
• Documenting and enforcing system standards

Desired skills
• Working with Tools - engineers need to be able to work independently at times so confidence in developing this skill is essential
• Procedures - ability to strictly follow site H & S procedures and instruction from Senior staff
• Excellent English skills
• Good listening skills
• Ability to take instruction
• Able to work as part of a team as well as independently
• Able to think on their feet and problem solving

• Reliable - punctuality and reliability are what clients expect and an absolute requirement to ensure clients’ needs are met
• Presentable - engineering teams mirror the company’s high standards of service in the way they present themselves
• Attitude - projects are varied, and project requirements can change so a flexible, can-do approach and ability to work in a team or independently is essential

• The ability to go beyond customers’ requirements

Desired qualifications
• Maths and English GCSE or equivalent at grade C/4 or standard
• Related qualification. CNCI or equivalent (Preferred) or higher levels
• Ideally qualified in electrical work
• iPaf, pasma
• ECS card or CSCS
• Working at height training
