Social Worker - Sensory Children and Young People Team

£28,925 - £38,913 per annum (Salary dependent on experience and progression through the Career Grade is based on the fulfilment of required capabilities)

The Sensory team are expanding and we need to recruit another full time social worker with experience working with children and families and interested in a great opportunity to join a specialist team.

The team comprises of both deaf and hearing professionals. The team are enthusiastic and experienced professionals who are committed to making a difference.

We are looking for an experienced Children and Families Social Worker who is keen to develop your knowledge and skills to work with children and young people who are deaf, deaf/blind or sight impaired.  You will have a level 2 in British Sign Language or a willingness to train in this specialist area.

The statutory work with the Sensory team will include Children and Family assessments, implementing and reviewing care plans, Safeguarding and working Children subject to Child Protection plan and Children in Care.

We work closely with other agencies who support children with Sensory needs, you will be expected to develop partnerships with these agencies.

You will have regular supervision and a significant investment in training and career development.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.
