An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accommodation Procurement Officer to join Maidstone Borough Council’s our busy Housing Advice Team and play a vital role in procuring good quality and suitable accommodation across the private sector for homeless households.

This is a full-time position, on a fixed term contract for 18 months, working 37 hours a week Monday to Friday.

As an Accommodation Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for the negotiation and procurement of good quality accommodation for homeless households. Sourcing property from within the private sector, you will deliver homes of suitable type, size and location to meet organisational needs.

Working a part of a large team, this position will complement our existing service. We are seeking to recruit an applicant who has experience of sales or lettings within the private rented sector or liaising with landlords to procure accommodation.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate strong teamwork skills, be used to working at a fast pace and thinking of creative solutions.

You will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, have an ability to work flexibly to changing demands and operate in a coordinated manner with other team members to ensure successful outcomes

The Council considers this to be a customer focused role and the ability to converse at ease with customers adapting communication style to suit differing audiences and provide advice in accurate spoken English is fundamental to the role.

The successful candidates will be expected to have a full clean UK driving licence in order to conduct property visits, inspections and viewings.
