Become a Volunteer Group Support Assistant

The Kent Autistic provide local support groups for adults with autism. Through these groups we can offer much needed information and support for anyone affected by autism. The groups give adult with autism the chance to meet and talk with others who share and understand their situation.

WHAT IS THE ROLE OF A VOLUNTEER GROUP SUPPORT ASSISTANT?

Being a group support assistant can be incredibly rewarding. Besides helping others and offering much needed support in your community, it enables you to become more involved with The Kent Autistic Trusts Family Support activities. Local support groups can offer much needed information and support Autistic adults. The groups gives Autistic adults a chance to meet and talk with others who understand their situation.

You do need to devote a few hours a month to facilitate and administrate the group.

Currently we\'re recruiting for the following roles:

o Voluntary Group Support Assistant - Medway
o Voluntary Group Support Assistant - Ashford
o Voluntary Group Support Assistant - Canterbury
o Voluntary Group Support Assistant - Sevenoaks


WHAT TRAINING IS AVAILABLE?

All Group Support Assistants receive training to ensure that they have the necessary skills before providing support at a group.

If your application is successful, you will be invited to our training event.

Summary Details VOLUNTEER GROUP SUPPORT ASSISTANT

EXPENSES - All reasonable expenses are paid for by The Kent Autistic Trust.

HOURS Each group lasts approx. 2hrs.

LOCATIONS Medway, Ashford, Canterbury and Sevenoaks

INDICATIVE CLOSING DATE: 31st January 2020

We will review applications promptly and will generally commence interviews before the indicative closing date.

INTERVIEW DATES: To be arranged with the candidate directly.
