This role will take a lead on the development and implementation of LLSE’s marketing strategy and support the team to articulate our key messages, make full use of appropriate channels and achieve our high expectations for the quality of our communications.


Job Description


Job Title Communications and Marketing Officer

Salary £24,000 - £28,000 per annum

Period Permanent

Location Office base in Sittingbourne with flexible home-based working and some travel across Kent

Reports to Operations Manager

Primary Purpose

The postholder will support the senior leadership team in developing LLSE’s marketing and communications strategy and lead it’s implementation. The postholder will ensure effective communications with stakeholders and partners, through email, website, social media and events. This will include producing and managing production of targeted content for external and internal audiences, including engaging written work for online and print. Responsive communications is also key. You will contribute to the management and development of a variety of communications channels, including social media, the company website and the promotion of seminars and conferences.


Key Responsibilities

Develop and deliver impactful, audience-focused communications for internal and external stakeholders
Lead on the development, monitoring and management of communication channels, including web and social media content
Be responsible for the development and maintenance of the website content, liaising with web designer for updates.
Promote LLSE products and services during events
Coordinate the design of promotional material and distribute in online and offline channels
Advertise our company and products/services on various media
Plan interviews and press conferences
Craft and send regular newsletters with company updates
Track ROI for marketing campaigns
Join social media groups and professional platforms to discuss industry-related topics
Monitor corporate website and social media pages and address clients’ queries
Network with industry experts and potential clients to drive brand awareness
Gather customer feedback to inform sales and product teams
Establish effective systems for regular communications with stakeholders
Work with the Director of Programmes to generate quality content for communications that engage school leaders
Monitoring the performance and effectiveness of communications projects and materials, by gathering and analysing audience engagement through analytics and qualitative means
Produce digital social media content including web content, email marketing, maximising SEO, blogs and Facebook.
Leading on events and arranging conferences and seminars to maximise these partnerships.

Skills and Qualities

3 A Levels, NVQ 3, HND, diploma or degree (or equivalent experience) in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or relevant field
Confident using IT platforms relevant to the role, such as social media management systems and email marketing software
Experience relevant to the responsibilities in communications
Proven work experience as a Marketing Communications Specialist or similar role
Familiarity with B2B and B2C advertising campaigns
Hands-on experience with web content management tools, like WordPress
Proficiency in MS Office
Knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics
Experience with marketing campaigns on social media
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good presentation skills
A self-starter, innovative and proactive
