The University of Kent is seeking a Communications & Events Coordinator who will be accountable for the delivery of a range of events for Kent Innovation and Enterprise, from large corporate conferences and workshops to training and professional development sessions.

You will be responsible for the marketing and promotion of the University’s business engagement and knowledge transfer expertise, ensuring all online and published materials communicate consistent messages, meet brand guidelines, and are written using the appropriate tone and voice for diverse audiences. This will require dedicated support across the full breadth of marketing and events, working at pace in a fast-moving environment, utilising social media in all its forms and designing innovative marketing materials for all aspects of Kent Innovation and Enterprise’s activity.

This role plays an important part in helping the university develop a high profile within the internal and external business community.

As Communications & Events Coordinator you will:

Co-ordinate, manage and organise high profile events such as, workshops and conferences
Develop a promotion and marketing plan with clear impact and outcomes, supporting the department’s outreach
Upkeep of the KIE’s webpages ensuring content is kept up to date and relevant at all times
Provide support to all teams within KIE, understanding their individual requirements and providing them with professional guidance regarding university brand guidelines, legislative requirements and timeframes for events, marketing and promotion
T
o be successful in this role you will have/be:

Educated to ‘A’ level in English, or equivalent, as well as GCSE in Maths and English
Demonstrable experience of successful event management and co-ordination
Demonstrable experience of successful social and digital media campaigns, including Twitter, LinkedIn and blogs
Experience of providing on the day, front of house support and client liaison for events both at external venues and University venues
