Location: Mariner House, Dartford
Who are we looking for?
Working in a busy infrastructure operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining Moat’s SAN and virtualisation estate, including BC/DR capabilities and testing. Current thin client technology is being replaced with PCs, using evolving deployment and management technologies alongside O365 to deliver collaboration and help meet Moat’s digital transformation strategy, your experience and skills in the area will be key to successful delivery.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience working in a technical role, supporting servers and back office functions in a VMware/Windows environment, enterprise SAN management and Office 365 services. You will be able to demonstrate solid knowledge across networking principles and Microsoft server and client products, with a good awareness of modern security technologies.
You will have experience with IT project management and be used to following ITIL processes, with strong verbal and written communication (both technical and non-technical).
As you will be out and about, we will require you to have a Full UK Driving Licence and your own vehicle.
What does a VMWare & Storage Engineer do?
You will provide a technical network and application support service to the end users of IT services. You will proactively manage, monitor and maintain Moat’s virtualised VMware estate whilst monitoring resources and ensuring correct allocation and utilisation.
You will manage Moat’s SAN to allocate storage to physical and virtual infrastructure as required and maintain group email flow, security and access using O365 and Mimecast threat protection and archiving services. In addition you will identify new or existing technologies or trends that could enhance the service or system provision to IT customers and present recommendations to the Infrastructure Manager.
Working with peers and junior members of the IT team you will share skills and knowledge while ensuring a current suite of documentation is available on key services.
