We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and passionate Finance Assistant – Apprentice within our Dover office.

This vacancy is open to internal and external candidates.

The Role:

The scope if this role is to provide comprehensive, effective and efficient finance to the Finance Director and all Migrant Help personnel. The post holder will be expected to develop strong relationships with staff at all levels, for the purpose of delivering; accurate, appropriate and timely finance support. The Finance Assistant will work consistently to ensure the continuous development of the role and ensure that the service is delivered according to procedures and processes which are accurate, professional and consistent at all times. The post holder will monitor the service and react accordingly, and in a timely manner to changing needs with resultant re-prioritisation of his or her work as necessary.

The Requirements:

The successful candidate requires a grade C or higher at GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths, in addition to meticulous attention to detail, use of initiative, excellent communication and prioritisation skills. The successful candidate will need to have a strong capability to collect, analyse and disseminate data for Finance reports and KPI purposes. The successful candidate will need to have a passion to drive system improvement and use technology, to aid efficiency, analysis and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will manage the credit card programme for the Charity and lead on record archiving, filing and record keeping for Finance documentation. The post holder will be responsible for processing of all Migrant Help credit card transactions onto the SAGE system, whilst also acting as a financial link with all Services and Support functions. The Finance Assistant will be required to provide system improvements and engaged feedback to cardholders to enhance financial education.

The successful candidate will commit to undertake an apprenticeship through the AAT foundation qualification route, which would require regular study attendance. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
