Central Development Officer

£27,830 - £32,236 per annum

This role will provide executive and strategic support to the central Student Success Project, as well as leading and embedding social and educational initiatives in academic schools across the University, resulting in improvements to undergraduate students’ sense of belonging, retention and academic attainment.

The role also collaborates with universities across the sector in advancing the aims and objectives of the Student Success Project.

As Central Development Officer you will:

devise, deliver and evaluate initiatives to promote a stronger sense of belonging, optimum engagement and academic outcomes for students across the university, particularly from underrepresented groups
maintain working relationships with a portfolio of academic schools and maintain focus on the Student Success agenda to achieve maximum buy in
support the effective monitoring and evaluation of initiatives and make recommendations for development to achieve maximum impact
actively engage with on-going student success research in the sector and be able to apply findings appropriately to the University of Kent’s particular context to ensure project work is relevant
To be successful in this role you will have:

Qualification and/or experience in quantitative data analysis
extensive experience of working in a similar role in a research and/or administrative capacity
high level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail
extensive experience of project work contributing to short and long term projects
excellent organisational skills and the ability to balance a variety of tasks whilst delivering results and meeting deadlines

The Partnership Development Office is responsible for supporting the implementation of the University’s widening participation strategy and for developing partnerships in the region, with a particular focus on sub-regional partnerships, in support of this strategy. The Partnership Development Office is part of Enrolment Management Services (EMS) comprising the Recruitment and Admissions Office, the Publishing Office and the Scholarships and Foreign Loans Office.
