MC Truck and Bus are currently recruiting for high quality Apprentices to train as a Volvo Technician through the award winning Volvo Technician Apprenticeship Programme which is considered one of the best in the industry.

As part of the apprenticeship, you will attend Block Release at Stephenson College over a period of 3 years and will achieve an IMI level 3 Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician qualification. You will be taught how to repair, service and MOT cutting edge technology trucks, buses, luxury coaches and hybrid. Due to modern vehicle technology we require an individual with good numeracy, literacy and ICT skills in order to use the systems for diagnosing faults of modern heavy goods and passenger vehicles. Applicants for this position must have a keen interest in the motor industry, good GCSE grades (or equivalent) and demonstrate a reasonable level of knowledge in Maths, English, and Science.

Duties will include

• Working with qualified and experienced Technicians learning how to repair and maintain modern trucks, buses and coaches including hybrid technology to the highest standards.

• You will be trained how to; repair, service and MOT cutting edge technology trucks, buses and luxury coaches including hybrid.

• Working alongside a qualified Technician learning how to carry out repairs according to Volvo procedures in a safe and responsible manner.

• Accompany Technicians on road tests • Learn how to use computer aided diagnostic equipment and Volvo special tools, safely and efficiently.

• Attend college courses regularly and achieve the standards required by the course.

Hours:- There may be slight variances per depot but generally the shift pattern is:-

Earlies: Monday - Thursday 6am-2.15pm - Friday 6am-2.30pm

Lates: Monday - Thursday 2pm-10.15pm Friday 1.30pm-10pm

Salary:- Starts from £4.10 per hour + £0.50 per hour shift (when working shifts).
