Because like you, we’re dedicated to changing attitudes and changing lives.

About us: We are passionate about helping vulnerable people to reach their full potential. We strive for a fairer society where vulnerable people find stability, the most excluded are included, and where homelessness and poverty are things of the past.

The role: You will lead a team that supports people (aged 18+) who are living in Porchlight’s homeless hostels, sleeping rough or at risk of homelessness.

Your team will give people the practical and emotional support needed to overcome the trauma of the streets and rebuild their lives. It will be your job to ensure that they are efficient and effective at doing so.

This will involve monitoring the performance of your team, ensuring staff meet our high standards and keeping accurate records of the team’s work. Regular auditing is an important part of the role. You will also be required to liaise with councils and health professionals.

This role requires:

Excellent communication and people skills
Experience of working with homeless or vulnerable people
Experience of working with statutory and voluntary agencies
Experience of safeguarding issues faced by vulnerable adults (including knowledge of processes related to reporting and ‘escalating’ cases when needed)
A full driving licence and access to a car (subject to the provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and Equality Act 2010).

Benefits: As a Porchlight employee, you will have access to a wide range of benefits including free life insurance, 25 days holiday per year (increasing to 30 days after five years’ service) and the Porchlight pension scheme.
